This is the New Testament of the Limbum Bible which has been in use over the last last two decades and more.

ABOUT THIS BOOK

The Limbum New Testament version of the Bible has been in use for over the last two decades and more. It is read all over Mbumland and beyond. This great work of the Gospel started with the printing of the gospel of John and the story of the birth of Jesus Christ and then finally the whole Bible. This great book has helped a lot of the people in the community of the mbumland and beyond to learn how to read and write in the mother tongue (Limbum). And now the whole community is waiting in hope for the completion of the old Testament to have the complete Bible in Limbum.

Through this book a lot of lives have been transformed as people are getting saved after reading the scriptures in their mother tongue.

planning

Planning on how the translation work will go for the year.

the on going translation of the old testament

Work is under way to see the Old Testament get translated. That is a day on the translation desk.

Reading the book of Jonah

While the old Testament is being translated, some books (Ruth and Jonah) has already been produced and people are already reading it as you can see.

Portions of the old testament books translated for classes

This is the handing over of the books of Ruth and Jonah to the Nkambe community which are to be used as reading textbooks in literacy classes.

As we all know and can see that a lot is done as far Bible translation is concerned, we can happily say that the portions of the old Testament already translated is read in all the seven zones of Donga Mantung and beyond and many are using it especially in classes as working tool.

We are anticipating that  we will have the Joseph story and Genesis out also so the Mbum man can read and hear God speak to him in his own language, the language of the heart.

people holding their books of Jonah

The happy looks of the mbum community as they received portions of the Old Testament (Ruth and Jonah) already translated and being in use. The excitement on their faces expresses that hunger for the word of God in their mother tongue. This shows the burning desire, to have the whole Bible translated in Limbum.

a day on the desk

This is A Day On The Translation Desk

The team of translators are doing a lot working day and night to see that in the end the Mbum man can have the complete Bible in the Limbum Language. It is enormous task which by the grace of God will be done.

The consultant comes around at intervals for checking to see what the translators have been doing on the desk.

language committee

ICC/LANGUAGE COMMITTEE TRAINING

The ICC. The ICC means interchurch committee, this is the committee that is responsible for bible translation and church base literacy in the mbumland

This committee is controlling four translators, a literacy coordinator, seven literacy supervisors and a decade of teachers in the field of mbumland.

The translators have already translated portions of the Old Testament like the book of Jonah, Ruth Genesis and Exodus.

Note that the book of Jonah and Ruth were already translated and published and is being use in literacy classes and most of the churches in the mbumland.

It is also worthy of note that most of the mbum people now are literate in their language. Many thanks to the church base literacy  teachers because if they did not teach the community on how to read and write, all the translated material would be of  no use in the community.
